For this blog, we will be looking at the Change Management process in COBIT 5 for the below example:
Example/ Scenario: The travel agency from NET603 would like to have all their IT services hosted remotely (No local servers)
Process ID: BA105, Process: Manage Organizational Change Enablement
To make the stakeholders accept the changes, below are a few suggestions that can be done:
- Presenting the statistics to the company’s higher-ups such as the CEO, Project Manager, etc. the benefits of implementing the solution based on other company’s experience with and without the solution (i.e, transition from local to a remote server).
- Laying out the pros and cons of both types of network hosting.
- Requesting to create a prototype transition without the actual data transfer
- Suggesting to bring the change in a small department of the company and see how it goes. After that conducting surveys in the department to know how the new system is in comparison to the old system.
- We can let the stakeholders know that there is a secure and proper backup in case if the new system has some issues or failovers.
